painting the interior?

I've seen many cars with nice custom interiors, painted different colours, like silver, red, or blue... My question is, in order to paint the dash/air vents/etc., what type of paint is needed? Is it easy t do it yourself, or should someone with no experience get a professional to do it?

Very true. Pretty much any type of paint will work. The trick is definitely making sure the surface is absollutely perfectly clean. Sanding helps. I didn't sand mine the first time, and it turned out really bad. I had to sand it all down (with paint on, a huge pain) and paint it again. The most important thing to remember is LIGHT coats.

I prepped mine with a sponge/alcohol. I didnt sand mine, I prefer the OEM feel/look.
after prepped (and I wore rubber gloves so that the oil from my hands didnt get on the plastic. Scrub it good. I used a sponge.. less lint.
Then I use krylon satin that way its not Flat but not that ugly glossy look (my opinion). I sprayed LOTS of VERY LIGHT COATS, 1 at a time and let each dry. Do Not rush it! u will mess it up. Dont touch it until its done. Krylon dries fast too. after that
Spray LOTS and LOTS of satin white clear coat to protect it in light layers, same way as you did the painting.
Your done when it dries!!
Image
