My car is black, and a buddy who owns an autobody shop told me it would cost between $600 and $1200 cdn to make it look like a show car. Depending on how much work I wanted done. Don't know if that helps.

The best thing to do is go to a couple different paint/body shops and find out. Let me tell you thought when you change it a different color and you want it to look good you can expect to spend 2K plus. They have to paint repaint every single bit of the car. Including inside the doors and everything. If you dont really plan on making it look perfect you can leave the inside of the door the same color and they dont have to take out the headlights paint under the hood taillight removal and all that and prolly save 500 dollars +. Thats the problem if you want it professionally done and change the color your talking 200% more in cost cause a real auto painter will strip it down to primer if not metal so no orginal paint shows. If you repaint it the same color all that you have to do is strip a little bit to get the clear coats off and strip down to primer or more on the chips and stuff like that and paint there. Couple of my best friends are auto painters and they are the only ones that volunteer and talk about information without lookin at me thinkin Im stupid. :) I got my camaro repainted cheaply and trust me, when it comes to a paint job, DONT GO CHEAP!!!!

If your car's paint is good and you simply dont like the colour, I wouldnt paint it a different colour. If you re-paint the car, it will immediately de-value. Especially a different colour. I would leave it, or if the paint is chipped and damaged, paint it the same colour. It will save you a lot of dough and headaches.
