Chose my paint

Well I decided I'm going to stick pretty close to the original emerald green so I don't have to do the door jams and under the hood. I'm going with emerald green with gold flake and a pinch of chameleon. Not too much though. Has anyone painted their own car? What color?

When painting your car a custom paint job, go with one of 2 paint brands for the best quality. Use either PPG or House of Kolors. House of Kolors has some really kick a-- paint supplies. Check out the Kosmic Glow powder!!! http://www.houseofkolor.com

Hmmmm, there is some COOL stuff on that website! From what I know, we're not taking it all the way down, just sand the original paint enough to allow the new paint something to grab onto. And the clearcoat is actually in the paint. That's what I gathered anyways. I don't know a TON about painting cars, but the guy who's helping me does. :D

Can you imagine how cool it would look to have "Glowing" racing stripes on your car at night??? that would be cool. Their products are used on VERY VERY VERY nice (time consuming) paint jobs. Here is one example of a truck that used both PPG and House of Kolors.
http://www.minitruckinweb.com/archives/ ... 1.shtml

I would think that the only time you could actually see the glow is when you're parked in the dark with your lights off. Street lights, head lights, etc would kind of make it hard to see while driving. Dude. If I could afford it I'd paint my entire car in glow paint. No graphix, just glow paint. hehehe Maybe then I wouldn't even have to use headlights. :p

Well, the glow is just like other things that glow int he dark. The longer you expose it to light, the longer it will glow. I think the glow lasts less than an hour, but even then, it would be HELLA cool! What you do is mix this powder in your clearcoat and spray the areas that you want to glow (or the entire car). They have all sorts of cool stuff. Kameleon paint, Kameleon paint flakes, Kandys, Pearls, Neons, etc.
