Radiator steaming

Post by sideshow »

I replaced my radiator a few weeks ago and ever since I've noticed steam coming out from the rad cap.
Is there a bleed valve on the MX3? I couldn't find anything in the Chilton manual.
I've driven it A LOT since replacing the rad and as long as I keep it full of fluid I have no problem with heat. Even when the fluid gets low the heat takes a long time to build and never gets critical. So, I don't think there are any serious problems with the installation.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If steam comes out of the cap, it's probably leaking: replace the cap. That's probably the cause of the trouble.

There is no bleed valve - the procedure for getting the air out is at Page E2-6 of the online manual.
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
Extra thick soundproofing in the boot (trunk) to quieten my stainless steel exhaust system :)

Thanks.
I'll try the instructions from the manual first ( I didn't realize the shop manual was back online...that's awesome).
