I need help. When my car is cold there is no problem. But as it gets hotter it starts to smoke more and more, but only when i take off in first gear. I figure if i blew my head gasket it would blow all the time. Anyone have any ideas?
THanks

If your head gasket is blown, which doesn't seem to happen a lot on K-series engines, you will have oil in your coolant and white smoke coming from your exhaust.

What color is the smoke? If it's blue, perhaps you're burning oil under acceleration.

Blue smoke is not a good sign.. You might wanna get it checked.. Could be your vavle seals..

It won't die on you if you keep the oil up. It doesn't take much oil to make a lot of smoke either, so you may not be using much at all. I drove an MX-6 I had that burnt oil for a good 40k miles. The motor all ways ran great. It just blew a lot of smoke.

It most likely is your valve seals. Thats what seems to go on these engines.
