I know my car burns oil as i have to dump 1 L every couple of weeks into it but i was wondering if anyone had any idea where it is burning oil. Some days it blows smoke while idling and when i give it gas. But then other days, more often than not, it doesn't blow any smoke at all even when revving high. The smoke that comes out is dead white. no grey or blue or black at all in it. Any thoughts?<p>Jason

If its burning its either rings or valve seals. When my ole MX-6 was sucking oil it was the exhaust valve seals. The rear valve cover gasket hardens up and leaks pretty bad also.

If thats what it is should i consider doing the rings on it? I am saving for a KLZE swap but in the meantime if it is relatively inexpensive to do the seals myself i will do them. I understand it will be quite a bit of labor to do the seals but what is the average cost as i can do this job myself with help from others?
