Hey.....So....my car starts fine...and when I'm driving around it's fine...but when I come to a stop and put my brakes on...the battery charge light comes on...and my gauge lights dim a bit...this happens more at night when I have my headlights on too. So do I have a crappy battery or is it my alternator? Or somethin else.....

sounds like an alternator to me.... I had the same problem, had to repair it.

time to get yourself a new alty, i replaced mine bacause of the exact same problem
mine was ok in RPMs higher than 2, but when it was lower than 2 the light would come on.

try car-part.com you'll probably find its cheaper to get it from a wrecker and as far as I know it comes with a warranty

guys, you DO know that mazda had a alternator recall for our cars, right? at the very least it was for 92-93, when i went to get guards on my springs (they tend to break with lots of salt on the roads, usually puncturing the tire! which happened to me) they replaced the alternator also... just an fyi

You can get a used alternator from a junked car for under $30 if you look. But if you remove it yourself, it can prove to be a huge pain in the *** .<p>You can us MX6, 626 and Probe ones if you want too, they are all the same ones as on your 1.8 V6
