How do I tell dif between 1.8 and 2.5?

Hey all! I just bought my first mx3 gs. And the owner before me didn't know much about the car because he didn't have it long. But anyway it has alot of pep for a 1.8 and I seem to think it may have had the 2.5 engine swap. And I have no idea how to tell. Can someone please help me?

look where the intake runners bolt to the cylinder heads, the cylinder heads will be marked KL-1A1 for the 2.5L and K8-1A1 for the 1.8L.<p>
The numbers are there, just keep looking on the heads behind the runners and you will find them.

Are you smoking all things VTEC? Then it's not a 2.5L.

I really dont think you would use the word "pep" to describe a mx3 with the 2.5 litre

Thank you kurtklze! I did what you told me and I see that it is a 1.8L. Wow, I can definatly say that the 1.8 definately surprises me.
