i have a 1993 and i think there are 5 1/4 in the doors. do 6 1/2 fit in a 1993?

I put pioneer 6 1/2's in my doors. BE careful with the magnet size. My magnets are so close to the window, that it litlerally shaved the sticker off of the back of the magnet.<p>[ November 11, 2002: Message edited by: Custommx3 ]

yea 6-1/2" will fit all around with barely any wrok just a few new screw holes<BR>and i have a 93 gs

6.5 fits perfectly. Some people say that 5.25 are the right fit , but I don't know where they got that info from because they definately are too small.<P>You can get almost any 6.5 you want if you make a spacer so that the window doesn't hit the magnet. I made spacers from .5" thick MDF and there are no problems with clearing the window or the stock grille.

i got the pioneer 6.5s 180 watts there blue with a little wanna be chrome and they fit perfect i dont even have to worry about the window hittin the magnet, but i did have to redrill holes but that wasnt a big issue, i have a pair of 6x9s i wanna put in the back but thats gonna require me to do some cutting and little more work so in the mean time i got another ill leave the 6.5s back there

im guessing yes cause people say the 5s fit and the 6.5s fit so 6" is in the middle so go for it

the only thing to watch for(as Barry said) is the mounting depth of the speaker. You can build a pod or a spacer if they touch, but try to find some relatively slim speakers.

the regular size is 6 1/2 for all for speakers, both front and back are all 6 1/2

I have 6.5 in the front but my magnet is too big so i cant put the window all of the way down 
I guess its not that bad, they are really good speakers..
