Actually max sq and max db are totally opposite. You either design the box for one or the other.

Since your box is reall big ported, the bass that comes out is reall smooth and low in most large ported boxs ive heard. I love that type of bass too but i cant afford trunk space.

If you like the big box- low smooth base, but cant afford the hatch space, the solution is simple... take out the useless back seat, and build the box custom fitted to it. Voila... all the room in the world.

My cuzin was talkin to this kid from Car Trix (a custom performance/sound shop here in Utah) and he was saying somthing about an epoxy resin that you coat the inside of your box with, and it supposedly increases SPL without compromising SQ. I will have to see what the s--- is called, but I am deffinatly gunna try it out, and I will post the results.

He coated his box with it (about 1/4" thick) on all 6 sides, and it hits harder than ANY box I've seen that size. I know all about box making, and this is a hard resin, not a sealant. I will post my results after I do the modification.

I was just passin info along. I know what a leaky box sounds like, I bought one with my subs. I also know what a sealed box sounds like, I made mine. And I also know that this box hits harder than ANY box I have seen it's size. Question it all you want, I'm just statin from personal experience.
