You need to buy a harness for the car...if you still have the stock plugs in there, the harness will plug into that...then you attach those wires to the wires that come out from the back of the head unit...they should all be color coded

I don't know what harnesses I need, also there has been a aftermarket deck in there before, same brand. But the shop that did it changed the wire colors so i don't know which is for what.

I replaced my factory casset/radio player with Sony CD player. As the other guy told you, you need a parts called harness. Harness is a piece that has some wires with a connector on it. It runs about $10-15, and you can get one at Best Buy or some places where you can buy car stereos. I did all wiring myself, and you might want to check out the manual carefully so that you can know which wire does what. If not, you'd better take your car to the stereo shop and have them do so for $40.

if you go to circuit city, they have a harness that hooks directly up from the universal harness to the pioneer itself--you don't have to cut or attatch a single wire (except maybe a remote if you are running an external amp). should cost the same 10-15 bucks. :)

Thanks for all the help guys. I found out the problem, I did have the harness on the new deck but when the mechanic took the stereo out of my recked car, he ripped off all the wires so i was trying to plug mazda wires in where the pioneer wires were suppose to be. So now all I have to do is go find my car and get the harnesses and pioneer wires. Thanks again for the help.
