hi, i have rewired my stereo today (thicker cables etc) and noticed that i no longer had lights on my dash board behind the gauges. it was later brought to my attention by a kind police officer that i also had no rear lights, only brake lights. i have tried to change the fuse but it pops every time i turn the lights on. i have checked my wiring, and cannot see where the problem is. any ideas guys/girls???<P>cheers.

Yes, I have had this problem before in not just one of my mazda's that I owned but three. When you replaced the stereo wires, did you connect the ground to the original stock ground wire? If you don't use that same wire, and use another, it happens, and in fact, some of my newer, more high powered ones, it did it on the same wire. I suggest that you run a separate wire to the car for your ground. I ran it over to the fuse box, there was an empty hole, where a screw wasn't there, the lights will come back. I can almost guarantee it. Good luck.
