Hey,<P>I'm a 17 year old college student and I want to buy a used Mazda MX-3. Before I buy it, how much do you think it'll cost a year in insurance? Just a rough ballpark. I'm sure there's someone here around my age, just wondering a rough idea. I'm dying for my mx-3!!

I got my 1993 MX-3 RS when I was 20, and insurance was $2700CDN a year (with a perfect driving record). When I turned 21, it dropped to $1800 a year.

so for a 95 mx-3 it would cost in the neighbourhood of 1200 a year? And one more thing, if you modify your car, do prices go up?

my car was stock back then and that was the insurance rate because i was under my parent's insurance name, a minor, and with allstate. insurance rates will vary with age and insurance company.

I am in Canada, and I am 20, I have 2 speeding tickets (both minor) and 1 major at fault accident, my insurance is 250$ a month CDN, this is on my own as well, insurance is always cheaper if it's under your rents name.

hey koivu, be careful who you ask, most of these people are americans = cheaper insurance, i am 18, and my car covered under everything it can be covered for (i.e. theft, vandelism, stuff like that) i am paying $290 a month, i live just outside of toronto so i am assuming you will be paying the same, remember the older you get the cheaper, i dont remember reading anyone on here 17 or 18 from canada, hope this will help, also call around and get some quotes

Go down to your local insurance place and ask then if I bought a 1993 MX-3, or whatever year, how much would it cost for insurance? That's what I did...
