I noticed if I let my car idle for too long it overheats. Is that because the fans aren't kicking on? Also, why doesn't it overheat while I am driving? Any replies are greatly appreciated.

when you are moving the air naturally cools down your radiator.

But sit still for a bit without a fan cooling the radiator, and voila boiling coolant!!

Suggest checking your coolant temperature sensor, as well as fan, relay, etc....

i had the SAME problem..but i fixed it...I had to replace my fuse...its the boxy looking one behind your driver side headlight...it should be hanging on by there...i replaced it and my fan kicked on...i was overheating sooo much...not anymore though...that could be your problem....the fuse is only like 5 bucks...
