Hey guys, I was driving and my car got up to 3000 rpms in 5th gear, and I lost all power and it died. I don't know what it could be. My radio, lights, and such work, but my power steering went out. Now the car won't start. I have a half tank of gas. I just changed the oil about 500 miles ago. I haven't done anything recently that would have jolted anything loose. I guess my question here is: How can I tell what needs fixing? have yall seen anything that could be the answer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Need more info!
Sounds it made, did it just die alla sudden or did it feel like it was lagging till it fianly stopped. Bangs, pops, crunchy noises, etc. There are an a$$load of possibilitis when ya say "it died",... Have a freind that just went thru a similar ordeal when her car just died. nothin goin on, just drivin at 50 on level ground & bang, dead,... Turned out the #1 camshaft bearing cap had fragged & seized the cam, broke the timing belt, & destroyed the head. Didn't make any noise, it just died,...
Be prepared for the worst, hope for the best.
You dont have to be doin anything to knock something loose. Some things just say fuggit!! & it breaks.
