When it's cold...

My car makes this sound like ticking like a clock only much faster after it warms up the sound disappears what is that?? :p

it is internal parts of the engine like valve lifters, tapits, etc in the overhead valve cover. It does this because it is cold and the oil has not got up into cover properly yet, once the engine is warm the oil flows properly and gets between these parts and the sound goes away. that is why you must not dive your car hard until it has warmed up properly. Others will be able to explain this better but this is my theory anyways. :roll:

I was just about to post about the same thing. I only noticed it this morning right after starting the car. I didn't know if that sound meant that something was wrong, but from what you said, it is ok.

i'd try using thinner oil, it should help cause its thinner and will move easier & quicker to lifters. but if u have leaky engine that wouldnt be good idea
