I was just staring at my Mx-3 today and a thought poppen into my head. With enough money in hand and enough work you could make the MX-3 into a REAR Engine Rear wheel drive car. the car almost looks like it should be rear engined. i know a far fetched idea but hey you never know. just a thought

TO add to that thought what is the wheelbase of a miata just thinkin hmmmm.........

i saw vaughn post on the egroups that he thought of making his mx-3 into a awd.....<BR>had all the parts but never finished the project<BR>jason

it was stated on egroups a while back that the minimum for an awd conversion would be the rwd escort drivshaft, rear axle, split gas tank(or use a fuel cell). don't know if the miata setup will work or not. also, a subframe has to be built to hold the engine/tranny setup. then you have wiring issues to worry about. if this is your daily driver, then it's not a good idea.

oh yea, i agree too much work, money and definetly not worth it for a daily driver. But then again a really neat project to do and if successful you would have an awesome car. AWD and rear engined is a very good idea. with the car weighing next to nothing all we need is 350HP and its all good. or mabey im just thinking about this too much. DREAMING i guess.
