Not unless you have about $20 grand. Sorry bro, but that operation is a major one. If you have the funds, that would be a very unique project and I would love to see the outcome. Everything would have to be changed; tranny, ecu, gears... the list goes on. Not a project for the faint at heart or if you MX is used as a daily driver. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide!

actually, it doesn't seem to be as bad as it looks. i was reading a post on the forum. it seems the hardest part is mounting the motor/tranny. after that, it's doesn't "look" too hard. get the split fuel tank from the rwd escort, the escorts rear axle, diff and driveshaft. but....this is still one hell of a project. but i don't see it going over 8grand(if you can do most of the work.)

you'd also need a new wiring harness, a whole rear end, tranny, engine, etc. It'd be very expensive...
A guy by the name of Marcos Acosta has a 3rotor in his mx-3, boosted to all hell, and he runs 7's/8's in the 1/4

Rear wheel drive on a rotary MX3?
I thought about it. A 13B is not that expensive. Rebuilding it is not that expensive either. But, then again, I live in Puerto Rico where they make rotary engines sing and dance.
The expensive stuff starts at the turbo, if you plan on going that route.
Then at the transmission mods.
Then the drivetrain, brakes and suspension
Then the electronics (Think Haltech)
Then the correct gauges working properly
not to mention fabrication of parts.
Is not impossible. It's not that hard. It's just tedious and expensive.
Look up the Rotary Miata mod in either SuperStreet or Turbo mag. The engine is RWD but there may be some good sources of information that may help you out.

If I could do it, I would. That would be one hell of a fun project. Don't forget to save some money for the paint job!!!
RF
