Yah, I got a vibrant performance 2.25" inlet /w dual 3.25" square exhaust tips and i just took it to the local mechanic and had him install it. When I went to pick it up, he said "...I’ve never heard such a wide vocabulary of foul words come out of my guys when they were installing your muffler...they had tools flying in every direction, never the less we got it on and it took us 2 hours".

I usually install the mufflers in about 30-45 mins. But I have a hoist. Make sure you mark the top or bottom for alignment of the new muffler. Just undo the flange in front of the rear wheel, and remove the rear rubber supports. With the old muffler and pipe on the floor, measure how much pipe you have to save so the new muffler fits the car. If you need an adapter to fit the pipe to the muffler ($2.99) include this in your measurement. Measure twice-cut once. Cut the old muffler off with a recip saw. Line up the new muffler on the pipe and spot weld with a mig and dry fit on the car. Adjust as required. Cut the rear supports off the back of the old muffler, and weld them to the new one. Chose the location to weld stratigically so it doesn't look like crap. Take the assembly out and mig it completely around all joints. Use exhaust sealer paste or a new gasket to reinstall the new assembly and you are done. It is easier to do all the welding on the floor instead of in the car. It actually goes faster than trying to weld the top of the pipe in place on the car, especially if you need to weld both ends of an adapter. It may be easier to weld the rear supports with the muffler mounted on the car, you can get better alignment, and choose the best looking location, unless you've done it several times. On some mufflers (ie.Ractive MT-610 21/2"in-41/2"out) you can get away with just one rear support.
Good luck.
