ive noticed that sometimes axles can sound as if they are knocking from the other side of the car. this has tricked me a few times at work. its sucks to have to tell the customer they either had both axles bad or the other axle was the cause. either way i doubt that same axle would be bad unless you did something i dont know about. try listening closer or getting a "chassis ear" tool those work great. i use it on everyone now just to be sure. hope this helps

Might be the wheel bearings are bad since it is doing the same thing it did before you changed the axles. Check them by jacking up the side of car that is making the most noise then try to wiggle the tire from top to bottom. Pushing on bottom of tire while pulling on top of tire and so forth. If it has play in it or it "clunkes" then it is the bearings. I believe they are sealed units but not sure so repacking is out. Try spinning the tire with tranny in neutral to see if you can hear any noise and the location of it. Good luck.
P.S. If you got the axles at Auto Zone they have a bad rap of putting out bogus rebuilds.
P.S.S Disregard the first post script since I just realized you are from Canada. DOH!
[ April 22, 2002: Message edited by: mxcess ]

I had the same thing happen and it turned out the guy forgot to put a locking clip on it and it kept slipping and knocking. I got the guy to put a clip on it and it's been fine since then.

Tried bearings they are fine I think it is left axel now since it is possible for it to nock even on the right turns
