Re: [GI] Rigid Spherical Sway Bar End Links
The rod ends do have to be shortened for both front and rear links. The rear links are opposite thread and will have a minimum length of just under 2.25" and maximum length of ~2.625". The front links are very short and cannot be made with an adjusting nut like the rears. The will have slightly greater adjustability, but one end will have to be unbolted to make an adjustment.fowljesse wrote:Looking good!
I'm wondering:
Are you going to shorted the rod ends?
How much adjustability will there be?
Will they be opposite threaded on each end?

Re: [GI] Rigid Spherical Sway Bar End Links
Well after about 30 laborious hours of sweat and toil over the past 4 days or so...here they are. Done.

The only thing I think may be an issue is the spacer seating directly against the control arm/sway bar end so I think I will pick up 100 more washers and toss in some extras. I will grab my spare control arm and TTL and post some pictures of fitment tomorrow. I"m not going to put mine on my daily driver just yet as I have a slough of suspension parts coming in for the big, all out suspension rebuild which is coming soon to a worklog near you.
I will pick up the boxes tomorrow and hopefully have them shipped out by Thursday evening.

Re: [GI] Rigid Spherical Sway Bar End Links
Delicious. Thank you for doing this. I wanted to make some of these last year but didn't have the means or the brains to complete the task.
Now for some bushings....

Re: [GI] Rigid Spherical Sway Bar End Links
I have packaged all of your orders and will be dropping them at the post office tomorrow after work. I have PMed all of you to supply your tracking numbers.
I have taped additional washers to the outside of your boxes (Except Mark and Jesse's package, which I hadn't packed yet).
I am holding onto a set for one member who was not able to pay yet. Once he has paid me I will have made exactly $53.51. At the moment I'm in the hole $71.49 on the GB. But that's ok. When I am paid for the last set I will donate that $53.51 to the forum.
I strongly recommend thoroughly lubricating each entire link with something heavy like lithium grease. I painted the coupling nuts and the rod ends themselves as well as the grade 8 hardware are corrosion resistant but you've all seen what the road does to that stuff. They will rust if you don't protect them.
I'll be pretty busy over the weekend, but next week I'll put up some pictures showing how they fit and correct installation. If anyone has any questions about anything let me know.
Pleasure doing business with you all.
Charlie.

Re: [GI] Rigid Spherical Sway Bar End Links
Thought I'd just check and see that everyone got their links. Interested to know what you all think of them. Have any of you installed them yet?
I haven't heard a word from any of you. That's either really good or really not so good.

Re: [GI] Rigid Spherical Sway Bar End Links
I kept putting off writing you about them, because I kept thinking I'd put them on soon, but didn't.. They look great. My Girlfriend is getting me a Whiteline swaybar for X-mas, so I'll put them on then. I'm going to try to corner balance a little with them, and let you know how that works out, too.
Thanks for making these! Sorry I didn't say that before
