Backs will be made from scratch so no one will have to send their covers.

Hey guys-
I've been reading this thread and I might be interested in the upholstery kits as well. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned already, (I tried reading most of the 6 pages of posts), but I think a good choice of material might be something like the EVO's Recaro seats. It's kind of a suede-like cloth that's very soft and durable. I even like the color that the EVO comes with - Black border with blueish-purple inserts. Only problem is that the cloth wears a lot on the high side bolsters, similar to the GS seats.

Once all the shifter boots and e-brake boots are sent we would like to start a GB for custom covers.I'd like to keep this alive and kicking. Taras and I will talk to Jeff to finalixe all details. I will probably show a finished set of covers and maybe sell a set of seats complete. It's up to YOU, the interested.

i was talking to perry today and he was saying that if you're looking for a specific color leather, to check out
http://www.spinneybeck.com and refer to colors you see there. also, is there anyone else out there who would be interested in getting the old mazda emblem (the one on your hood, not the new one) embroidered into the seat covers because if so, we could minimize digitizing costs and what not. i hope this group buy goes through because this is a really decent price in comparison to similar quality kits that are available.

Hi,
We just finished the group buy for the shifter and e-brake boots. Now we will be figuring out the details on the seat re-upholstery kits GB. Nothing is set yet in particular, but will be figured out very soon.

If the GB will happen. And then depending on it's success, 94+ style may be available,

alright, i don't think this is gonna go anywhere until taras and perry see some serious interest. i don't know about you, but i personally HATE the stock interior of our cars and this is a really good deal to give the interior a nice face lift for not that much if you think of what you're getting. i'm not sure if it's still accurate, but before i think there was an estimate of $1050 for the entire interior.
i would love to have this done for the ottawa meet in may and i'm sure everyone would like to have their car look good for the summer. if anyone's interested, please speak up. they're gonna need some interest to make this go through.
btw, taras/perry, are there any updates on price or number of people needed?

Yes please, Taras & Perry, update please....summer's almost here.
BTW count me in if this will be a relatively expeditous process.

Hey Guys/Gals,
Got a go ahead from Jeff now. Perry is moving into a better and larger location right now, that is why we have not seen him here. I will be talking to him a next few days, so I will update. I know that we have so far almost agreed on the minimum for the GB. Due to the amount of work and price involved, we think a minimum of five (5) people would be required for the first go round. We also discussed the material options in great detail. Not too set yet, but we have talked about Leather, Vinyl and Cloth (or Tweed) options.
I also know that Perry wanted to make a set of black leather seats to show everyone how they will look on our seats, but I do not know if he picked up a set of Mx-seats at the junkyard. I know there were some in good condition, not mossy yet... lol. I tried to convince him to do my car as a mock up, but who wants to rip off my nice grey/blue tweed that he just done last year.
Cheers.
Taras.

i'm sure you and perry probably already know, but i am definitely in unless you come back and say that it'll be $2000.
could you post again with updated estimated costs for various materials like leather, suede, vinyl, or cloth/tweed? if leather, will it be vinyl rear seats?

lol, u really do have some kind of weird fettish w/ lights, don't u taras...
the price really isn't bad for a set of high quality seat covers... i've priced around and seat re-upholstery is really expensive... i guess people just don't realize how much hard work goes into making the seat look good... if i had extra money layin' around waitin' to be spent, i fork over the cash for these seat covers... taras' interior is absolutely nuts.... it's as close to perfection as u can get... so clean, and i like the colors a lot too... obviously this perry guy does good work...
