Nice write up, be sure to put plenty of pics of the rear drum to disc conversion, Im doing the same swap, just picked up rear disc assembly off a 323 (BA Model in Australia) New Slotted rotors and pads arrived, just gotta get some braided brakelines and then start the swap.

Today was a productive day!! Got the engine down to the block, pan an oil pump!! I was finally able to give it a good cleaning(have been itching to do that since I bought it!!)!! No its a waiting game for when my gasket set comes in, to be able to get it port matched an flow tested!! Plus I can clean up all the other engine stuff!

Found the serial number for my block!!

Just need to collect some parts: gasket set, water pump, head bolts(ARP), timing pulleys and spring, then a gates racing timing belt and I'm all set!!

no new oil pump while your in there?

Don't know if I will! But who knows!! I probably should so everything is new but I just don't know right now. If it craps out I would be kicking myself for not replacing it!

Well my buddy asked me if I was going to replace my oil pump an I told him maybe he gave me some word of advise

Well with the advice of everyone that I have talked to I ripped my oils pan an oil pump off an decided to get a new one(might as well almost everything else will be new!!)!! An to my surprise I found this

So took that a few other parts over to my buddies(he's got a parts cleaner/ varsal tank)
And now it's alittle cleaner

So it's down to pretty much nothing right now!! I will mask it off an give it a quick spray of black on the block an oil pan give it a quick spray of silver!

I like knowing that my engine will be pretty much brand new cause as of now all of it will be new!! Just going to take my time putting it together an do it right!! Sucks cause it's a sloooow a-- process but worth it in the end!!

I don't really like body kits, but I do like your rear bumper. It looks good.

Yeah I am happy with how the rear bumper turnered out!! Hopefully my front bumper turns out just as good.

I don't like body kits either but it came with the car!!

Did some painting today! Got the block painted, oil pan , t-stat housing an lower rad to water pump housing!




Also painted the pulleys too!!

So today I was cleaning up some engine stuff an decided to get alittle of the grim off of my turbo. I took off my down pipe an noticed that the inside of it an the turbo housing was covered in oil (hold gun to head an pull trigger!), so its leaking oil...... faaaack!!! I don't want to upgrade my turbo right now cause this build is expensive as is because I'm pretty much replacing everything! So I think I have found a couple of kits for not to bad of pricing! Has anyone used an ebay IHI RHB5 kit to rebuild their turbo an had success???

So took my turbo to Alamo today to see how much to rebuild an yeah $450 for a complete rebuild with all new internals..... Holy F**k!! So I am gonna wait an decide what to do with that!!
Came home an needed to do some mindless work to keep myself busy from thinking about that so got a bright idea to start cleaning an painting all the bolts for my engine(I think I may have a mild case of OCD ... Oh well it will make it looks awesome when it's all together)
