Re: MrMazda92's '92 GS "Tracy" - *UPDATE* GC Coilover Sleeve

weede, they came with my ground controls, beyond the brand I know very little about these. They're Cusco branded, if that helps you any...

Jesse, I've recently lost over 2,000 bookmarks on my desktop, so unfortunately I won't be able to recover many of my undocumented plans :( I did manage to organize and document quite a few, but I'm definitely down about 2/3 of the list, including 100% of the research I put into pre oiler/primer designs :( I've managed to get a lot done, but many of my parts sit in my attic collecting dust! If you ever make it down this way again I'll have to show you the parts pile

I picked up 2fazed's blue car last year, and am glad to have it! Was worried we would need to sell it for a while, but things turned around at the last minute :) I'll probably be blowing up your inbox asking questions, especially since your build included many of the ideas I had lost in bookmarks... It's good to have you back!

You can use Xmarks.com to upload your bookmarks to a server, and even your open tabs. I've been using it for years, and love it.

I had used firefox sync, but it's not letting me download the old ones... I can update the list, but there's no way to download the ones already on their server apparently. :(

It looks like I needed to keep my other computer synced to save my bookmarks... go figure, I no longer have that one. :(

Never used it. I found Xmarks years ago, and never had the need for another service.
With Xmarks, all you have to do is install it on your new computer (once you sync'd your old one, of course), and then go to your account and download your stuff. Simple enough that even I can use it...

I'm going to give it a try, since I misunderstood firefox sync.

My headlight project is almost done, I've got everything cut to length, crimped into position, and ready to be soldered. All ready for final test fit with the stock H4 bulbs. I'll swap the left one in and leave the right stock for now, so I can do 3 stages of night photos for you guys.

1st will be stock faded American housings with 9004 bulbs
2nd will be clear JDM housings with stock H4s and upgraded wiring
3rd will be clear JDM housings with my new H4s and upgraded wiring

I'll keep the right headlight stock to show the difference for non believers, only until after my little photoshoot.

I'm waiting on a waterproof fused power distribution block for the headlights. It's the best way to keep things clean, and makes future diagnostics simpler.

Ground Controls are installed, and I love them! Great setup... but my front struts are blown, so it's bumpier than hell. :( Good news though, I just bought 2 GR2 fronts. ;D next week will be better.

no pictures? what kind of update is this, BLASPHEMY!

too bad to hear about the front struts, at least you'll have new ones so you don't have to worry about them for a while now

Mark took the pics on this trip, not me! I'll upload what I can, after I get a copy of them!

It's not a big deal, just means I have to be careful driving around until I replace them. Every single bump in the road makes me cringe, I can't help but feel like I'm hitting the ground everywhere I go. At speed, on a smooth road, the ride is great! Just those bumps that kill me.

As you can all see, my baby needs a paintjob!!! :(

Anyways... My upcoming move means very little money will be going out for car goodies. I had planned to pick up a set of Colt Cams in the current BB, but that money will be spread between my front strut replacement, alignment, and a deposit for my move.

The benefits of the move are pretty big though, the greatest of which will be a real garage. I'll be able to get some things done that have this far been impossible.

I think you will be very happy with it once you get the new front struts in. Then you will like the GR2's so much you will end up buying the rears here real quick, and keeping yours as spares. I look forward to making the trek down to OR again real soon.

I think so too! The feel is great on smooth roads, just the bumps that are killing me atm. I'll be driving the '93 for a while it looks like though... Thankfully I figured out the smoking issue today before my '92 had it's little issue.

When you make it down, don't forget to lemme know you're coming so I can roll out the welcome mat! I just realized, you, Mark, Jesse, and I all have 2 MX-3s each.
