So today I broke my wreckers yard virginity... Whenever I'd phoned previously, I'd never found a single place with a Eunos 30x (Australian version of MX-3), some "Mazda" wreckers hadn't even heard of Eunos's before... But today, I was chasing a new fuel/temp gauge/gauge cluster, and there were two places which had parts for a Eunos 30x! They were both right near eachother, and about 1hr away from my house, so I went to both. First place only had the gauge cluster & a few other bits & bobs I wasn't after. (They did, however have an absolute stack of Holden Commodore parts, which is an Aussie family sedan, I think it was exported to US as a Pontiac G8...? So I purchased some clear side indicators from a '02 one of them, which are apparently a direct fit)
Then at the next one, hidden away in the furthest corner of the yard, there was a virtually untouched charcoal grey 30x, which had a blown transmission, so I absolutely went to town haha... I took the front lip, mini sides, some little interior trim bits, the clear front indicators, and I think some other stuff, can't remember... I also asked him for the whole dash cowl & passenger side a/c vent, but he was one man down in the yard and cbf taking out the whole dash just for that one a/c vent, so said he'd call me later when he's had time to take it out for me

While I was there, I also noticed an '02-ish 626 & saw it had the chromed door handles, so I snatched them up, too

So watch this space, there will FINALLY be some progress... I hope... hahaha
(and so much for 'just quickly going to get this one part' hahahaha)

Haha yeah, thanks guys. Its so nice especially because I've never been able to find anything before... From the sounds of things, this guy tends to keep a bit in stock, so I'll probs call by again sometime when I'm feeling the urge to do stuff again haha

The lip, skirts, etc. will be a long time coming, but everything else is installed

Here's the little bit of modifying I had to do to the Holden Commodore side indicators I picked up. The one on the right is the standard one, I just had to file off some bits from the back and voila! Too easy
And here they are installed:

Very happy with how they look
Here's the car how he is at the moment - You can kind of see the clear front indicators... Front & rear guards are off getting resprayed with the lip & mini sides, amazing how awkward the car looks without them, especially at the back!
And here are my chrome 626 door handles

Definitely the easiest thing I've done to the car so far! I was surprised that it literally took me about 3-5 mins per door...
Now all I have to do is finish respraying the exterior add-ons, put the interior back together, and give poor Zeke a good ol' clean - He's filthy!!

The day has finally come that my paint is dry enough to fit my front lip, mini sides and re-sprayed mudflaps! Well, it was technically dry enough yesterday, but I worked all day, and had stuff on at night... Tonight I started fitting it all up after dinner, and here's how it all looks!
'scuse the crappy image quality - my phone is pretty bad at taking night time photos! I'll try get some good ones in the next few days...
I'm having some fun with the mini sides, as my car seems to have some air vent-looking things on the underside where the screws should be going... but pretty sure they're not air vents... I just can't figure out how to screw them in hahaha... Anyone else post-fixed some mini sides to their MX? (or Presso/30x)
For the photos (& for me to be able to see how it will look when done), I tacked them on with some masking tape for now hahaha

Thanks, I'm pretty stoked, hey... I was really unsure about doing this, because I've never been a fan of cars with mismatched panels, etc - I've never really understood the appeal of having black/cf hoods on cars (unless they're black/very dark blue/green), or black bodykits, etc... But I think this works really really well

Went for a bit of a drive around my suburb & the next suburb over from mine the other day just for the fun, and took a few photos. (I know they're less than amazing quality, taken on my trusty ol' Nokia)
Its the first daytime pics I have of the kit (mostly) fitted! I still haven't gotten around to fitting my side skirts yet (Had lots of trouble finding the invisible nuts I needed to fit them the OEM way - even Mazda couldn't help me. I'm going to just Sikaflex them on, but am waiting for better weather - it's been mid-high 30s (Celcius) all week, and now its 30-something, cloudy & possibly coming in with a thunderstorm!! Fun!

) So the mini sides WILL be on soon, I hope - should be fine by, say Wednesday night, so might do them then.
Anyway, here's some pics!

gimme a day and i'll get the part numbers for the proper clips/grommets and screw for the sides, i got them from a my buddy at work who runs a copy of the euro epc(electronic parts catalogue) and got me a set that worked perfect.

Thanks, guys! By Euro markers, do you mean the fronts or the side ones? The sides were from another make of car, the fronts were just from a standard AUS-spec car... I think mine only had the orange ones because it was a Jap import...
Awesome, thanks a stack, matt... Are you sure it'll be the right type, though? Mazda got in the correct one for the Australian-sold versions, but the Aus-sold cars had a slightly different clip - it didn't have the little bit in the middle of the clip that mine has (see pic), so was like one big piece that clipped in, as opposed to the two smaller bits that clip into my bracket...
Here's a pic of it:

(Its an excellent photo I know

but you get the idea...)

it'll most likely be the right type as the clip that you have there is more like a plug, when you get the new hardware you'll have to pull those one's out and put the new one in and screw in your mini sides.
on a side note i don't have the hardware and just used a heavy duty double sided tape and my mini side's have been on for 2 years without falling off or even peeling from the car
