That's an interesting idea. I think sourcing the damper itself would be a challenge. Those are only cheap because they're making thousands of them. The best way would probably be to buy a civic damper and throw away the brackets. lol.

I'll put that one on the idea pile.

It would be awesome to get an adjustable one, or even a solid one that could be put on, just for racing. Then you could still have a smooth ride daily.

Once I finish with this and the Bushings, I think I'm going to design some Tubular Chromoly Trailing Arms and Leteral Links. That will be fairly simple. Then I want to work on tubular LCA's. The Coupe de Grace will be the tubular rear subframe. I want to perfect the MX-3 suspension.

I've thought about modifing a damper and putting it on an mx-3 for a while...doesn't look hard at all. Just need the damper, find a place to mount it to the motor, and on some cars, the other end seems to have a bracket that mounts to one of the strut towers. I've seen some vehicles that have a similar system stock. I don't remember what make/model it was, but it was while I was working on equiping emergency/gov't vehicles and it had what would basically be a motor mount on the top of the motor that was mounted to a strut bar, neat idea.

That's what I was thinking. Instead of controlling engine torque with a shock, use a strut and control engine torque with a bushing. Would be much simpler and cheaper.

Got your payment Mr. Brooks, thank you.

Anytime before on or before the 3rd is fine Jesse. I just don't want this to drag out.

A note to everyone involved or interested. If you haven't sent payment by Friday you will not get parts this time around. I will do another round soon if there is residual interest or some people need to wait a while. But I'm going to place my order with the rod end manufacturer on Friday for those who have paid only.

And remember to identify your forum handle when you make payment so I can keep track of who's paid.

Thanks
Charlie

I sent payment before you made the announcement about the username - Mine is tied to both romeojr@clarkson.edu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and onlytrueromeo@hotmail.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, but I'm sure you figured that out already.
