That's different. I'm just curious and hoping that the added material over the rear wheels won't offset the aerodynamic advantage? How would you take off the rear wheels with that covered?

I know you said you were worried about the movement from the rear wheels from the TTL system...how about using narrower rear tires/rims? They just follow anyway, and would reduce weight, road friction as well as the aerodymic drag from their exposed parts under the body

Here's more info:
The stuff is a plastic that looks, feels, and "works" like carbon. I got it at the high end plastics place that I got the Lexan for my windows, and Plexiglass for the slim visors, but didn't think to ask what it was, exactly. It weighs so little, I was concerned about it's strength, but it's tough stuff! the 2 skirts weigh probably 1lb. They are screwed in, and can easily be removed, as I keep my cordless drill in the car. They are rolled under, around the side skirts, and rear mud guards. I have done some tight turning, and so far, no rubbing.
Mooneggs said they hold their shape @ speed. I was concerned that they might cave in. I'm going touse the same material to get better aerodynamics from the front, and cover the bottom of the car.

yeah I actually liked how they turned out combined with the RS garnish... it makes the whole car look lower to the ground...

I'm not sure if I would do it to mine since you have to screw the panels to the car... but it definately looks different - like a little lunar rover

There are ways to attatch them without drilling holes, but I wasn't that patient, and I can just fill in the little holes. you could use body clips. I made a clear vinyl roof for a car that I cut the roof off of, and attached it with industrial velcro, and it lasted constant 100+ driving, and sealed it from rain, so i'm sure that would work, too. I'm thinking about another way of attatchment, just because I don't like the screws. Here's a couple more angles:




I'm getting a plane, to fix the edges. And everything will look better when I mold the sideskirts, bumper, and mud guards.

how are u goign to change ur wheel or work on ur car at all with that covering it if ur going to cover the screws up...

I have to say Jesse, respectfully, I don't think that saving a few dollars on fuel is worth making my car look like that. It's an interesting idea, and you clearly have some talent, but I think it's a terrible look.

OK jesse the question has been posed and it deserves an answer. How are you going to change the wheel? I'm not to partial to wheel covers. Had some on my 65 Pontiac Parisienne and I took them off,,,or was it they rusted off, anyway. I would of thought you would of covered them with smoked lexan.
