Sorry Macen, I think pretty much any coleman stove type Naptha will do, I think they are all the same. A sports/outdoor sporting shop should carry something like that over there. Why not ask for the best possible from the shop to be on the safe side.

How about "methylated spirits" (Kemethyl)? Is that the same as the stove fuel TsiMiata is talking about?
I read on a swedish site that methylated spirits is used in camping stoves. In sweden the spirit is called "T-red", because it's a red colored spirit.

coleman stove top fuel didn't work for me, but then again i put it on a 92 corrola, co and hc went down just a bit, but nox went up .. i let the car run for 2 hrs before test. just letting people know, its not a 100% remedy to pass emission.

I will give it a try. Hope the stove fuel we have here in Sweden will do fine.

I don't know about stove oil. Maybe because I hear the word "oil". And it's not oil. I believe naptha is considered a gas (and highly flammable I might add). Easily ignitable. Very light and clear looking. Same fluid used in coleman camping stoves and coleman lamps. I believe that there is a subsatance called stove oil which is a much heavier, thicker and oil looking in appearance but that is NOT what you what to use. I hope this helps a little. Most people call it "camping fuel".

I found some new stuff:
Kemetyl Tenol
"Consists of etanol and metanol that comes from renewable energy sources. It can easily decompose and gives a minimal amount of carbon when ignited."

It's used for camping stoves and lamps.

I also heard that putting the same thing as you pour in the tank to prevent ice in the tank, can help lowering the emissions.

Today my car passed the test. I replaced my old cat with a Magnaflow cat last week. Today I put 0.5L "K-alcohol" (K-sprit) into 10L of gas + 8L in the reservoar.

The result was (limit):
HC: 12 (100)
CO: 0.0 (0.5)
CO 2500: 0.1 (0.3)
Lambda: 1.01 (0.97 - 1.03)

I got a bit of good news when I took my car for its MOT(UK roadworthiness test)

For the last 2 years my car has squeezed through on emissions but its always been close. The assumption was that it was required because of the age of my car (1994).Only pre 1992 cars are emissions exempt in the UK.

This year the system has become fully computerised and specific test requirements for your car are transmitted from the Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency to the test centre.

The tester informs me that according to the DVLA

1/ My car is emissions exempt
2/ I can bin the catalytic converter

Not sure why its exempt the emissions, might be because the engine(KLZE) is itself exempt, or its from a pre 1992 car, or maybe my car is classified as a kitcar which I believe are exempt emissions.

The tester wasn't sure but as far as he was concerned if the computer says its exempt, then its exempt.

Anyway I'm not arguing its one less thing to worry about

Oh yeah and my car passed the roadworthiness test first time, not bad for 11 years old.
