uhh, how do you plan on corner weighting a car that you cannot adjust ride height?

for a MX-3, the BEST solution is still Ground Controls and Koni inserts, IMO.

This crap is just that IMO. The spring rates are unknown, the dampning rates are unknown. They aren't serviceable, they aren't rebuildable, you cannot select spring rates.

These are good if you want something that bolts on and you can forget it and you don't care to "think" about your car's performance.

I don't dispute any benefits. However if corner weighting is not performed, FULL handling benefits would NEVER be reached! In fact handling could be severely compromised.

not if you don't get adjustable struts, and there aren't many for the MX-3. And you can't use universal 2.5" springs or the like without the use of a coilover sleeve.

First of all, I wasn't referring my comments towards the mx-3. It was just a general comment. And as far as springs go, If you have the money, you can get many small, and some larger machining companies to build you a custom rate spring. Same goes with dampeners. My point was that coilovers are not the only way to a very well tuned spring and damper combo.

a coilover kit offers a damper that is tuned to the spring rates at which the coilover is offered (supposedly). true you dont need a fully adjustable coilover to get a tunable damper but it has its advantages and disadvantages over mix and match setups. what is stopping someone with a regular spring and strut setup from corner weighting?

the coilovers in this thread are hayame. they are made with a tokico adjustable strut and are servicable. thats what i am told anyway. can you not use spacers to cornerweight?

The reason I posted in this thread in the first place was to discourage the misuse of coilovers. Thats a very important purpose of these forums. Who knows, by posting here you may have saved a 16 year old from skidding into the back of a dumptruck because he had his coilovers bottomed out and the stock shocks were riding on the bump stops.

can you not use spacers to cornerweight?

In order to change the corner weights you must be able to change the ride height. Spacers would not work as most vehicles have different spring sizes and rates front to back. When adjusting corner weights, whatever adjustments you make to one corner have to be matched with the opposite corner.

there is a French web page of someones mx. and he has listed a set of real coilovers and pics of the coilovers that he had gotten. he also has some sweet rear mudflaps but i dont speek french and i didnt have a good enough english to french converter, so my email was never awnsered.

I know for a fact that it`s a company in Germany named K.A.W that makes a real adjustable coiloverkit.

It`s about $1540 USD before refund if you give them your 4 original struts.
