everything you just said is your opinion. What is "hard" for you isnt that bad for someone else. Im sure Braden could install a haltec on a k series without too much hassle.
Sean Matthews as David has pointed out is running a ZE with boost...no issues.
Here's the point.
youre not going to hit 10s in the car without a ridiculous amount of money, and the car wont be streetable if you do.
the stock rods arent great, and depending on tuning, would probably hold, until something small happened, and then poof!
Smart? not the best idea, but its doable if you feel like being different and have cash.

I have heard a lot of good points but I don't consider $10,000 that much money. I am definately going with vortech and custom kit. The klze is very complicated but it is good practice for the new 3.0L V6 and LSD that will go into this mx-3 and so will the SC. :D
I know that nos is definately stupid for Eaton or JR SC but the vortech does have alittle lag until 4000 so I started to think if it might be possible. and I know hitting a 10.9 is pretty dam near impossible but I'm sure that the 3 litre will.

They benefit BIG time from the intercooling effect.
Vortechs are crap....im sorry, but I just dont get it... why would you intentionally use something that only gets high end power, yet isnt as efficient as a Turbo?

while youre at it... you might as well put down for the 15 G's its gonna take to buy a custom quaife or Getrag gearbox that will allow the launches that a 10 sec car is capable of. Guess you could always find someone to weld up a place to allow use of one out of another car....mabye focus SVT or Mini Cooper S. Probably still need a custom gearset though, as the spacing is off for a 10 second car.

good point but I am a machinist and all I'd have to do is give one of the engineers a rod and piston and he could custimize this for me. He has already done this for his mustang that is sc. I don't think that anyone has made stronger internals for the klze yet but could be wrong.
All i ment with the comment on the 3.0L V6 is that I don't care so much about blowing the klze cause the new 3 litre is the real engine I want. This is just a hobby for me and I will eventually sell the mx-3 any ways cause my heart is for the mazdaspeed rx-7 in 2005. I would buy a 3rd gen but u know that old rotories have their own mind and they either work great or dont work at all.
thanks protege for the support as ur the only one that does. And for the rest of yall thanks for the debate.

Mazda has created 2 new engines for the mazda6. one is an 2.3L inline 4 banger with sequential valve timing and the other is this 3.0 litre V6 rated at 220hp also with its new svt system and it comes with a lsd tranny. The only problem is getting your hands on one of these will be a 2 to 3 year wait, ah shucks!
but it'll be worth the wait cause I believe the aftermarket will be making more turbo/sc kits for mazda as the MAZDASPEED PROTEGE will show everyone that mazda is back to making sport cars.

You cant argue with a 1.8 rod ratio of the big k series engines.
