So I finally put together my suspension today. I was intimidated slightly by it, but once I started it was easy to do. I had to disassemble everything a few times and put everything in the right order, but I managed to get it done eventually. I got an impact wrench yesterday and my goodness does it ever make working on cars easier.

I'm super proud of myself for throwing this together, even if this forum supplied a lot of info as well as Evo_Specs knowledge.

I got a new deck, and I'm once again inconvenienced by wiring :/ I'm gonna bang my head against the wall and figure it out though.

I do have one question though, does anyone know of any easy way to test a deck out, to see if it works? I've tried plugging in the power source from my previous deck in to my new deck and no lights come on or anything. I've seen random Kijiji posts with the decks removed from cars but turned on so I imagine there must be a way.

Those look good Rob! nicely done.

You can hook your deck to the 12V battery to test it. But there should be your ground, and 12V switched power source. been a little while since i have done an install but that along with your speaker wires should be about all you need. I have tested decks in my house with just a battery charger and a speaker :)

I managed to somehow get the deck wired up. Whoever put in the last deck cut off the white plugs and did it the hard way, crimping the wires together. I figured it out and soldered the connections together as well as I could(still need some practice though) and used electric tape as heat shrink and melted it with matches since I don't have a lighter.

Hopefully, the new suspension will go in tomorrow. I'll be home from school around noon and that gives me a solid six hours of daylight assuming I don't get interrupted. Anyone have any tips for swapping the suspension in? iv'e done it once before so I'm confident I can do it, but I wouldn't mind any tips for doing it faster/easier. Also, in case I get interrupted, should I do the front or rear half first? I know if I do the rear I'll have reverse rake, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

So I put in my suspension, and I love how it looks!
I didn't measure the exact drop, but i'll hopefully get a chance to compare it to another Mx3 and maybe measure the difference.
Couldn't even fit a tennis ball in the wheel well :D had to jam it in there just so it'd stay.

Still haven't but my blue hood back on and I haven't painted my front bumper.

I did however take my car in for an alignment today.
It was a bad omen when one of the employees there came up to me after they lifted it and asked me if the car was turboed....even after looking under the hood...

Anyway, I knew I had a CV axle that needed to be replaced but I also have a lower ball joint that needs to be replaced as well as both of my rear stabilizer links. They want around 560 and another 170 for the stabilizer links. And they said that it would take less then two hours to do it. I wasn't particularly impressed by that so I've decided to do it myself, then get the alignment done after.

dear god the cars clean! anyways, sry i didn't get back to you on your question about getting an alignment done, i actually don't know anyone in town to recommend, should have called mike and asked him he may have known of a place to go. i still have my winters on and am still @ stock height, so if we meet for tims sometime soon you should be able to have a better idea of how much of a drop you got from those springs

No worries man.

We should get a pic of our cars back to back, the colour contrast with HIDs pointing out would be sick!

Meant to say, I like the black raised rs hatch wing. That's how my green MX-3 was and I loved it, even though the colours don't match.

Hahah I kinda like how it flows, it's easier to rattle can it black then try to match it with the rest of the car.

And do you have a red MX-3? There was one I used to periodically see in Invermere that was super clean.

Those rims have one spoke too many for me (i like 5 or 6 spokes) and that yellow on your calipers is awful.

The car looks so much damn better lowered man.

*edit* nice visors, took me a second to realize.

Those are six spokes hahah

And the callipers either need to be redone in yellow or a different colour, I'm not sure what I'll do quite yet.

EDIT: I keed, I keed, of course they're seven spoke
