It is factory and you can have it. It is coming off as soon as I replace the sunroof panel. I don't really like the way it looks...never have.

I have the euro mini sides and one of them came out really nice but the other is being a punk. I will get to it soon and they will be on the car in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for your help. I couldn't have done it without you.

So today I was just doing a few minor things. I've been messing with the suspension a bit trying to stop having my fillings rattled loose on the streets of Edmonton by my Eibach/ZX2 SR set up. I picked up a set of four struts from a 98 Escort ZX2 for about $60 at the pick n pull. I stuck the fronts on last week just to see how it would feel and they were too soft and of course they bring the ride height up i a most unappealing way. So today, I took the Eibach springs and put them on the stock ZX2 shocks. Much better. You get the stiffness of the spring but it's a little bouncier with the softer shock.

Also checked the bushings out while I was down there and they are still as good as the day I installed them...and not one squeek yet.

I also have been waiting to install a new rear carpet I had bought from another member a couple of years ago. It seems I'm always carrying some big greasy thing in the back so I never bothered, but yesterday at the pick n pull I found a nice spare tire cover (my original one is broken) so I decided I'm probably done with the big greasy stuff for a while...why not tidy it up back there.

So anyway I pull everything out and pull the old carpet and the spare tire and I go to vacuum it out and I find my original tire change kit. I had forgotten it was even there. I open it to see what's inside and I find these...

Factory wheel chocks!!! Cool right!

Anyway I also installed a set of clear signals that I got from Deizzel.

That was my day today.

Lookin sweet. Love that you're keeping it stock (ish).

How is the ride of the stock escort ZX2/eibach springs? You say its bouncy - is that an under-damped bouncy, or a "supple" bouncy?

My H&R/ZX2 S/R has always been rough, I just thought it was my bushings (worn rubber) as I haven't installed the poly ones yet. They are a bit softer than my ground controls were, but not by a ton.

You need to:

1) Clean your wheels

2) Ask me if you can have my factory wheel locks for the cost of shipping (sry im poor) They'll match your OEM wheels nicely, but I will only give them up if you are keeping the stock wheels.

did you ever wetsand after the clearcoat? i painted some of my panels in a similar way but i had alot of orange peel and had to do a tun of sanding/polishing to get a nice even surface. there not as reflective as the original paint but they turned out alright... any chance of some close up pics in the sun?

what are you planning on doing with your old zx2 s/r struts?

@John, It's not bouncy. The S/R's are too heavily damped for really rough roads like we have here. The bushings do add to the shock value of the bumps but with the stock shocks it's a little less jarring on the car in general. Some day I would like to get a good set of adjustable coilovers. The wheels are badly oxidized. I am not hopeful that they will ever look really good again without professional reconditioning. I have a set of 5 spokes that are in nice shape that I want to paint. Can we still has the nice wheel locks if we use them? I would be happy to pay the shipping + a few bucks. Lemme know.

@ MIke, I did not do any sanding of either the paint or the clear. My goal with the bumper was to make it look respectable until I can get the whole car painted properly. The fronts are for sale. I left the rears because I like the back end the way it is. Cheap cheap if you want them. They have about 20k on them.

@ Solo, I want to get the sides on very badly. I have to get more paint and do the remaining side that was giving me trouble as well as the rear bumper I've been holding on to. I also need to replace both doors and do a fairly serious patch on the rear driver's quarter. It'll all be done eventually.

Get the SE wheels media blasted and powdercoated... I got my 16's redone.. 200 bucks cash deal in Kelowna @ Falcon powdercoating. I love the PC, its strong and I trust it unlike painted wheels, specially when it comes to potential rock damage. I am sure you can find a place there as well that can do em for around that price, it would be worth fixing up the rare-ish SE wheels
