2.25 cat back magnaflow mufler no resonator stock cat. sound really deap under 3000 and almost unaudioble above 3000. call me a freak but i'd rather hear the engine than the exhaust. even under 3000 it barly breaks 75db. the sound also changes as it warms up. kinda trippy but cool!

Vibrant Performance 2.25" inlet /w dual 3.25" square exhaust tips. I know it's loud because people walking on the sidewalk often turn around to see what's coming. lol

I like to experiment so I tried something different. Got a cherry bomb 21/2" strait thru ($29.99). I removed the resonator (free), and put a Ractive SS tip ($35.00). It sounded rough before the tip was installed. The shape of the tip (4" oval) is critical to the sound. The tip is a divergent duct that forms an aerodynamic back pressure by slowing the velocity of the exhaust gas as it exits, this also acts as a sort of sound baffle. There is a mid to low pitch at idle, mid range RPM sounds awsome with a very low tone. The High PRM (4500+) has a high pitch. Sounds like an airplane when wound right out. Pretty loud, but not annoying. It changes pitch when it warms up too. I know... it sounds like a cheesy way to go, but I'm a V-8 hot rodder recently converted to respect import performance and the cherry bomb was a left over...figgered what the hell, it made that 55 Chev sound great give it a try. I was not wrong, this cheap combo sounds much like a full stainless system I installed on a 95 Acura. My MX is a 95 V-6. I tried the same setup on a 4 cyl and it sounds cool too, but not quite as high pitched at top end. Outstanding for only $64.99.
This was cheaper for me too because I have a hoist and mig welder which helps out.

I have a stainless steel round Magnaflow muffler with 2in piping from the cat back. Sounds deep and mellow, not farty and obnoxious like a lot of mufflers.

hey all...i have an apexi dunk series muffler...5 inch tip, with 2inch catback exhaust piping. I plan on upgrading to bigger piping after the turbo project, and also getting a high flow cat.

All I did was put 2" pipe from the cat-back, and put a couple of tiny bottle mufflers on (it's kind of a quasi dual exhaust - wish I could have done it properly, but that costs $$$). It's fairly deep at idle, but it get's kinda whiny above 4000 RPM.. Lotta people told me that they like the sound, tho.
