My 12/91 mx-3 got rear ended a bit more than a month ago :( :( :( :(

So, I have to wait until next year for a 20 year old mx-3 now.

My MX would have been the big 20 shortly. Would have been crazy seeing it as a 20 year old car!

I was always joking about how it was almost a classic car too haha.

yes, mx-3s are timeless. People are surprised I still have mine but I love driving it. Mom keeps pushing me to sell it and buy something else, but I'm not going into debt just to have a new car. I don't really like many new cars and if I do like one or two they're too expensive, I can pay mortgage for what they want for a car payment nowadays.

Serious Rob?! Wow, you're young!! Haha... weird thing is, I'm the same age as mine, too, which means theres only like a 2 yr difference between us... but I forget that I've been driving for over 3 years now....
Yes, I got asked the other day how I was able to afford such an expensive car while being a Uni student, etc. When I replied that it was old, so pretty cheap, the guy said 'well, it'd only be 3-4 years old, wouldn't it?' Should've seen his face when I told him it was 20! :freak:

hahah yes I'm quite young, I've only legally been allowed to drive alone for about a year and I've gotten that a couple of times too.

It's kinda weird to see a car with Urethan or plastic bumpers with Classic/Antique plates! I've seen a few Corolla AE86's with them.

But what's the exact deal with those? I know you get special insurance, which comes out way cheaper per year. But once you register the car as classic, I think you're only permitted to drive the car a certain amount of miles a year, if you go over the allotted amount you pay a fine or such for each mile you go over. Anyone know for sure? It'd be sweet to get that for project cars/racing. Not so much for daily drivers.

I was close to for the classic cars... but our government decided to raise the age from 25 to 30 years.....

And... in another 10 years, they will probably decide to raise it to 35 haha
Just another Mx3 freak :)

Well, you might not be... My car says '92 on the rego papers, but the seatbelt was manufactured in '91, and I actually don't know when the car was built - they took off the japanese plate when it was made & nobody has been able to tell me its age!! :crying:

They scrubbed off the VIN from the body as well? It's not on the firewall? Well until someone can prove it, I'm the oldest, haha!

I know what you mean dude. Yes i can buy a car for 20,000$ but it wont have a 2.5 v6 with a 7000rpm rev range and a v6 sound. Also, if u know someone in the buisness ( i do lol), you can import at R32 GTR for 15,000$ with taxes, shipping and inspection (one has to show up at an auction in japan though). Id rather import a good car. Beamers, evo's' and subaru's' are around 3500$ with turbo's'as long as your not to picky. Well, 318ci's'are not turbo.

Oh, I know the VIN, but can't do anything with it!! I tried entering it into some kind of VIN decoder but it didn't work... The original plates on the firewall have been replaced with a compliance plate which say that the car was imported to Australia from Japan in '98...
But yes, that does mean you've got the oldest MX-3 until someone can prove otherwise haha ;)
