well there going to let me insure the car for 3 months so ill see what i can do in that time.
my current thought is of making an adapter plate and installing an egr on that square plate on the top of the intake manifold. shouldnt be hard to do and im assuming it would work the same as if it was bolted in the proper place?
does anyone know if the probinator chip completely removes ecu control of egr or if it simply stops it from sending the code? if it removes control im assuming id only need an mx6 ecu + airflow sensor for this to work?
ill also look into the adjustable fpr idea.

How in hell are you going to connect it to the top of the intake? You'd need to have a special pipe fabricated to go to it fro the manifold and it'll get hot and probably burn wiring and what ever. Post the numbers from the test and we'll try to help you but unless your name is Nd4SpdSe I haven't heard of anyone else passing in Canada without some kind of help.

i just bought solo_ryders car yesterday and i brought it in for emissions testing today. its lowered so much they could only do a idle test, but it failed on the hydrocarbons. maximum allowable is 107 and i scored a 192. carbon monoxide was at 0.53 and maximum allowable is 0.81.
i actually think it could be done quite easily. run a semi flexible copper or aluminum tube from the header to the top of the engine, cover it in high heat wrap then a simple adapter plate would bolt directly onto the plate at the top of the manifold where the throttle cable is bolted.

Ok but what about the issue of heating up the intake? I don't think you idea is sound. IMO I connected the EGR on my ZE just so I wouldn't get a code. The port is there on the head but it goes no where. Never investigated to see if it could be drilled out.
Check out this link about 3/4 way down the page.

would heating up the intake have any adverse effects other then less hp? im not talking about running the egr 24/7. im talking like an hour just to get it aircared then disconnect it for another 2 years

A properly running car and a good catalytic converter is all the help you should need.

Really none of us on the old group had problems, Krish, Duncan, John, J-Beef, Ian, Trevor. We were able to get 500-600km on a tank too.

Read through this to find Jesse's emissions struggles. All he needed was a bigger cat running on the KLD(Z)E with no egr and some acetone to pass.

thanks for pointing that out for me Carlisle. im gonna get the 3 months insurance this weekend and deal with it over that time. i plan on replacing the o2 sensors and ill probably throw on a bigger cat while im at it. hopefully thats enough to pass everything.
i changed the oil and i put on my msd wires from my old car which probably wont hurt my chances.

how did you get that kind of mileage? i just went threw my first tank of gas and with 91 octane i got 280km. i was driving like a d--- but i couldnt see much more then 400-450 at most before the low fuel light comes on.
btw when people say 500k a tank are they talking about when the low fuel light comes on or when the tank is pretty much empty? i always fill up when the light comes on and even with my k8 i dont think i ever got much past 350km to 400km at the most.

Mike I told you the kinda mileage expectations you should get.. 320-380 mixed driving with abit of spirited action and 400-450 on pure highway
If you are driving the piss outa it the tank wont last that long.

Oh man I have to call you on this one, your so full of Honda making a statement like that I can't even believe you just said that. Maybe with a K8 running on vapours but not a ZE no way in hell. I get up to 450 on the hwy since I went with 5W30 Amsol and I may make it to 460-80 with a few mods I plan to do this spring. But that's driving at 90-95klms not 110-115klms an hour.

Oh I've got a pic somewhere!
I didn't know about those getting almost 600 until Ian told me on his, and man, he did A LOT of highway driving. John got one that was about 580, but may of gotten one over 600. My aftermarket tank was bowed out, only ever could put in like 31L

Ha Ha, I can't find most of the crap I have and you just pull that one out of your As*. What are you Mr Fileseverythingperfectly.

My Mx-6 KLDE auto can get up to 600k per tank but even the K8 in my MX-3 only got 400 and something. Maybe there was more oxygen in the atmosphere then and now there's more CO2 pushing out the oxygen.
