good source for mx-3 engines?

first off, thats a sound idea, im no mechanic, and a friend told me that once you warp the head on these cars, its over.

Not at all. Modern engines in general are very strong, but the B6 is just bulletproof. I highly doubt your engine has a warped head, but in the odd case it does, you'd just have to get another one.

having it rebuilt is sound advise, but can an engine BE rebuilt if it is seized? (dont know for sure if that is the case)
this is what happens if you try to start it......you hear a weird humming sound like the starter is running in circles, but it does not click,
so i dont think its the starter, maybe a belt? someone did suggest that i may have snapped the timing belt.

I don't quite understand what you mean. Get somebody to look at the engine while you try to start it.
Do the belts (in the passenger side end of the engine) move when you try to start?
If they don't, does the starter sound like it's straining and can't move, or like it's spooling up with no load at all?

If the starter sounds like it's straining and can't move, take the spark plugs off (yes, all 4 of them), and try again. Do the belts move now?

If the starter was straining, and taking the spark plugs out solved the problem, your engine was hydralocked. That means probably water got into one or more of your cylinders, and your timing belt is broken.
If taking the spark plugs off didn't solve anything, maybe your engine is seized.

If the starter sounds like it's spooling up with no load, your starter solenoid is busted.

If the belts move when you try to start the car, your engine is NOT SEIZED.

well thats good news, the belts have always moved after this happened. a neighbor had a friend over that looked at it for
a few min, had me start it, and the belts DID move, man, if my engine isnt siezed then that would be incredible.
to answer you question, the starter just sounds like its spooling up, hence the sound, so maybe your advise
is corrcet on that one, but like i said, the belts have always moved, it was looked at the day after this occurred,
its been sitting since then, (about 4 months).

That's great news.
So you're probably up for a change of head gasket and maybe a new starter.
Take the starter off and get it to your nearest auto parts store, and have them test it. They will be able to tell you if it's good or not. Also, if the car has been sitting for that long the battery will be dead. Take it to the auto parts store and get it SLOW charged.
Meanwhile, take a look at the oil in the engine. Does it look milky? If it does, it's time to get a new head gasket. If it doesn't, get the starter running and try to start the car.
If the car starts, look at the rearview mirror. Is there a very white cloud of smoke forming behind your car? If the answer is yes, you need a new head gasket, regardless of the oil not being milky.

If you're saying that the starter sounds like it is spinning but with no normal compression sound I'd say you stripped or snapped your timing belt.

That's what it sounds like to me. It's easy enough to check. You're going to have to remove it to change a head gasket anyway so you may as well check it first. Just take the valve cover off and manually turn the engine over and see if the cams turn. Easy to check. That's my bet.
