Partially, the engine is well balanced, and it doesn't take as much power to pump the intake, and exhaust through. The biggest restriction on our cars is the IM. IMHO, KLG4 is the way to go, also aero mods, ram air, and some other things. The car was chipped properly, and now I'm controlling it with megaSquirt. i belive spark has a bigger factor than most people do, and smoothness. The less the engine has to work against itself, the more power is free.
