EZ motorsports
Re: EZ motorsports
thanks for the links. I plan on fighting this I just need some time to clear my head and forget about it for a while, its stressfull. I just went out to look at the wiring closer and it doesn't look as great as I thought it did or as great as Kevin at ez said it was. He spliced the wire from my msd power cable going to the battery and weakly saudered the power cable from the projectors to that. I will post pics later. I dont post pics on here much so when I learn how to I will. If there is a day when one of you can look at his wireing job on my mx-3 I would appreciate it but by looking at what he did something doesn't look right and I know nothing about electrical.
thanks

Re: EZ motorsports
dude.... any time you need help with something come to the forum first!! I read the thread backwards and thought you had CUSTOM projectors built... then I realized you were just paying to install the ones off ebay!
like others have said are literally just cut the old connector and wire direct
its less than an hour job.... wow
good luck with getting your monies back!

Re: EZ motorsports
I called legalaid and my wife and I make to much money combined to get free legal consultation on the phone. So my only other option is 15 minutes free from a lawyer and I don't know if it will be worth getting a lawyer for such a small amount as two thousand dollars unless the lawyer will be suing for more? Lawyers arrent cheap but I'll see. I also went to the albertacourts website. Is there any printups on here about the install that I can use as proof In court? I was thinking if anyone knows of a reputable shop that does projectors in edmonton? so I could go there and get an estimate and use that as proof as well. I don't know if any shops will print up an estimate? But if I explain my situation maybe they will?
thanks

Re: EZ motorsports
In the US at least, small claims courts don't require you to have a lawyer. You could just bring him to small claims and file the paperwork for a small fee. Sometimes the threat of being sued is enough to work out a deal. Make sure you record all of your conversations (email and letters work the best as anything said over the phone is open to interpretation). You will get a chance in court (again in US) to settle the dispute before the judge makes a decision.
After deciding which course you want to take, I would contact EZ motorsports and tell them what you are planning, and ask if they can settle. Tell them you want them to undo everything they did to the car and put the stock headlights back in, or lower their prices to a more respectable number (say $500). Give them an ultimatum, set a date for when you will file the legal paperwork if you do not hear back by then.
Make sure to send letters or email return receipt so you KNOW they get it!
Again, in US law, it is illegal for a company to advise someone to do something that they know little about and charge them for what they don't need, jacking up the prices to overinflated levels. (ex. plumber telling old lady she needs all new pipes when she doesn't).

This is a slightly old FAQ but the basics are correct. The MX-3 headlight system is already on a relay so an additional relay is not required in my opinion.
12V power is delivered to the Ballast...that's all. The relay is in place to protect the switch not the lights.

Re: EZ motorsports
thanks for the advice but I think it was Kevins intent from the beginning to over charge me as he saw me coming and knew I knew nothing about the install. I know more now that it's too late unfortunately. I was just too excited to get the projectors installed and acted to quickly by choosing his shop and trusting his shop. I think it was the wow factor of all the hot cars he had in front and inside his shop that sold me. I was stupid. I tried already to get him to undo the work and he refused. Like I said before he was all over my car from the wheels, under my dash at my stereo, in my trunk and even critisizing my msd saying my car is jdm and I shouldn't be using msd because I will blow my engine. Basically he was onto everything but the job that I hired him for, the projector install.

Re: EZ motorsports
if you want to drop by, me and my club will be at the Westmount Tim Hortons on Friday between 8 and 9pm. A few people with projectors and a bunch that know what their doing. I'm sure that we could help make sense of it or even fix it.chertel wrote:If there is a day when one of you can look at his wireing job on my mx-3 I would appreciate it but by looking at what he did something doesn't look right and I know nothing about electrical.

Re: EZ motorsports
For small claims court in Alberta I'm pretty sure you don't need a lawyer. I looked into going to court with my ex friend for money I loaned him. You do some paperwork and pay a fee. As well I believe any other costs from legal people if you win get charged to the other person. Business might be a bit different but its all on there website.
Really harsh to hear that. I had some cocks at a place that my friend recommended to me do a tint job on my rear window and in the process took a big chunk out of my rear spoiler. They shoudlnt' have even touched my rear spoiler. But yah definately always need to get a quote printed up and signed saying you agreed. Obviously as a business its poor practice to do work without this and they hopefully would get in sh##.
Personaly I would have refused to sign my credit card bill. Then had my credit card company take care of it!
