Exhaust restriction can cause similar problems, ya. Shouldn't be too hard to check your cat, just unbolt is and shine a flashlight through it - if you cant see the light clearly, get a new one!

I pulled mine and lots of stuff came out with it..lol. Lots of carbon and other stuff.

Haha, my mechanic pulled one off an old neon and rocks came out! Big ones, it was VERY strange. like, 1/2" dia rocks... they were definately rocks, not just clumped carbon.

Maybe someone hated the person and chucked rocks in there? But then again, it would come out when the exhaust pressures it out.... how strange
