I understand it sucks and all, and I'm seriously sorry, but if he spent three hours trying to push that thing on... I mean, theres only so many ways to put a clutch on a shaft... I'm digging a hole, I'm sorry, again.

It's all good guys, live and learn. I mean there is no teacher like experience I've done many transmissions on different models I've done several of them like these mainly escorts pre-97's and post 97's done dodge avenger's with the v6 auto, my supra. It is my fault. If I would have taken the clutch and tried to slide it on the shaft, then I would have realized it wouldn't work, but after seeing that my PP was to small for the protege flywheel, I used the alignment tool and put the mx-3 clutch and PP back on the mx-3 flywheel. Then proceeded to lift the tranny up and it wouldn't slide in completely lol and I spent a lot of time trying to figure this out... I thought maybe the clutch disc had maybe moved.. I did it so fast I couldn't remember if I took the alignment tool out before the final torque of the PP bolts(I'm sure I did but couldn't recall). Any hoo! I bolted the protege flywheel up to the b6 sohc and It is bigger in size so I hope it works with the starter, the teeth fit and the crankshaft turns soooo it should work. Ill get the clutch kit for the protege tomorrow and I'll take it from there, still not sure how to modify the passenger side driveaxel to work with the b6 sohc wich I could just buy one.

New Question.... my roatating assembly seemed to make quite a bit of noise more than I've ever heard while hand turning any other engine this normal for b6 sohc?

Anyway no worries guys, happens to the best of us. I just wanted to post and make it clear that it will not work that way. LimeGreenMX3 or whatever did a write-up and above states I can use my mx-3 clutch and PP with the G-series tranny too. So not really your fault anyway bro. He said I didn't read his write up but I did several times it says "you ut the BP clutch n flywheel" or something close to that
here's link to the write up.
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=62772" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So anybody else that has done the BP tranny swap can explain better how to modify the passenger side driveaxel, Also the mx-3 axel on that side I removed didn't have the carrier bearing thing that bolts to the block? is that normal?

My future plan now is to pull the BP DOHC and rebuild it with lower compression and a MHG to be prepped for boost. But I will be doing a new setup with my Supra first possibly doing a 2jz swap with it, which is pricy but well worth it. Hope to meet some of you members at some meets. Hopefully all goes well with this swap. Have to get some rest, g'night everyone and no hard feelings please, I'm an easy person to get along with.

Well I got the g-series tranny up and installed this morning w/ the protege lx clutch kit. I got the passenger side driveaxel installed and seems like it will work. However now my slave cylinder is leaking clutch fluid maybe the bleeder got opened somehow not sure. Any hoo the driver side axel from the protege is shorter than the driveaxel I removed from the MX-3 which I thought was suppose to be the opposite. It is to short to get the big lock nut over the hub end of the axel(any ideas?) Once I get the axels figured out, everything should work okay, I can't finish re-assembly without the axel because I can't fill the trans up yet.

Okay well I have drove it around the driveway and it works, bit of squeaking but I think it is the brakes from sitting and it's been raining for days. Anyway my shifter is really hard to move around and doesn't move to all the gears without a good amount of force and is hard to get back out of the gear. It goes into 3rd the easiest. Any ideas to help me with this? ANyway it is not gringing and **** like the F-series I think the throw-out bearing was installed wrong when I bought the car. It wasn't on the fork correctly when I removed it, Also I took the black cover off my F-series and 5th gear is ****ed, theirs these little clips broke, and some metal material sitting there, and the big nuts on the gears are goughed and such. Thanks to anyone that replies in advance, hopefully you guys can help me get the shifter right and everything should work okay so I can drive it to the shop and get the passenger axel modified so I can bolt the carrier bearing to the block.
