don't we have a police tatle-tale number for people like this? call and say they are chucking s--- out the window of a moving vehicle - then the next time they are pulled over they will not go easy on them at all?

Hmm.. no offense dude, but uhm..

What do you do when there's a real problem?

Like, say someone keys your car, or you fall off a bike and break your leg?

Or, like you find out you have cancer?

Take a deep breath. There are lots of real problems in the world, but a cigarette butt flying off your windshield is not one of them.

(PS - I am a non-smoker, and have never smoked, so don't get all riled up)

(PPS... again sorry, no offense, but I'm just getting really tired of the anti-smoking crap. Direct your excess anger into an anti-war or anti-poverty movement or something).

// And I live in Montreal where we have a higher tolerance for "abberant" behaviours.

We all chose our own battles. And the millions of cigarette butts all over my city is one of them. If youre tired of the anti smoking crap....take a nap.

I dont like people smoking around me, thats why WA has a state law about no smoking within 25ft of buildings. I see many people still break it, including at my work. I dont care if they want to kill themselves. I want to breathe fresh air.

At least you didn't toss an egg out of your sunroof...

I thought there was a $500 fine for tossing burning material from a car. Maybe next time, you can press charges.

Of course, I only complain about other people breaking laws -- Not when I do it. ...such as speeding, which I seem to inevitably do at some point every time I drive.

But littering -- that shouldn't be tolerated.

You don't see the hypocrisy of a gasoline car driver complaining that smokers are ruining the air quality?

Had a complaint, and I see it may get carried away and become an unpleasent conversation.

Original point has been made.
