I see em and dang!! I would call the Police dept. at least and complain about the cop slamming his car into yours. It seems the street is fairly well packed with cars. I can't see that as being an oportune place to "pit manuever" him. If they think it was then the driver cop will not get into trouble, but I think they may need ot look at your pics and have a talk with him atleast about when to make that decision.

just to clarify a few things... I'm on a street between several major intersections and streets... so really there was no "safer place" and there is an elementary school nearby.
And the hit happenned in the intersection behind the cop car.. the resulting motion drove it into mine.
Unfortunately looking at it they did take it out when it was safe to do so...just unfortunate for me.
And as has been mentioned before... we don't sue over everything here. Also the cops are not liable, period. They have an internal review which makes sure the officer dealt with it properly, but legally they did everything correct.

And the fun continues..
ok, my car has been in the shop since tues, oct 18 just around noon. I was told tues pickup, called friday to confirm, they said prob wed. they called tues and said thursday. I called thursday and was told friday 3pm. I call friday 2pm and they tell me 5pm. I get there, pick it up...
and my alignment is STILL about 1/8 turn off, and my rear tail light is not activating properly (wiring fault) so I drove the 1/2 block I had gone back to the shop and told them to bloody well fix it.
SO..
any bets as to how long it takes them to fix the f-ing alignment and tail light wiring?

take it to different shop, get it checked for frame damage, have it inspected real carefully

I got a call today. Was not frame damage... Once the alignment shop was told to check it bloody well again they found a bent bolt on the rear suspension arm. That is what was screwing up my alignment. It bent when I was pushed into the curb.
They have the part ordered and it should be in tomorrow.
The sweetest words were "the alignment show was forced to reevaluate their decision about the nature of the damage". Aka: They f-ed up and didn't do their job right.
Finally.

[edit] YEAH! I have my car back now. And it is done right. So glad to have her back. I don't think the rims have been this clean since factory.
