maybe it's the timing..check if your belt didn't skip a tooth..check if your marks align correctly

I could but I'm having a hard time myself finishing my engine. full time student and working 25hr/week is hard and I have a girlfriend to entertained :) If I could I would.

lol, read ya loud and clear!

At worst, I'll stop by Mazda and get a dynamic diagnostic read-out taken, that should tell me what it does when the problems show up, probably the last option.

Now, if YOU need a hand on the other hand, don't be shy, I've swapped many engines in my time, mostly v8's, but I'm a great wrench...just let me know man!!
