i did SUPER LIGHT tinting on my car's lighting. i did 1 light coat on taillights, headlights, sidemarkers, and turnsignals. they were darker, but you can still tell they were amber.

they actually look lighter in person. the reason they look so dark now is cause i changed the contrast.

Some Mr. Buddy Retard who owned my Percid before me tried tinting out everything but the headlights. This lasted until he was spotted by the cops, who forced him to bring it in to them with no tint left of the lights/reflectors. The guy took something to the lights scraping off some of the tint and making a mess. When I got the car I threw on some altezzas as apposed to trying to get the tint off the tail lights but I still have to either replace or figure out a way to get the rest of the tint off the others. This was in Vancouver so I guess it all depends on the cops in your area and how much you want to risk having to take it off if they kick up a stink.

if its black, tint it, and when you tint taillights go get some brighter bulbs for them so that way you still can see brake lights.

One thing to keep in mind is that (at least here in Canada) if someone rear ends you at night and you have modified tail lights, especially tinted, however light, the insurance company can rejest the claim...

I bought my 2nd mx3 GS 92 a while ago, I fixed many things and had to go do a safety check since it was from Ontario and I am from Quebec.

When I bought the car everything was tinted black except the headlights. I didnt changed anything on it.

Result, I passed the safety check easily and they never talked about the tinted taillights, side marker or turn signals.

If the Gouvernment accedited inspection place didnt care, I doubt that insurrance company or cops would really care. They still light up well through the tint (spray).

If an insurance company can find a reason to deny a claim, they will. Your call.
