i didn't get mine until it had around 130,000mi on it, and i don't know what had been done before i got it, but the only problems i'v had in the 30,000mi i've driven since is that some of the solenoids were bad, and that wasn't much of a big deal to fix.

97,402 miles. Thats when my automatic tranny stopped working (cant go on reverse).
Autos do have a bad history of braking down. You sure you got enough tranny fluid in it? When do you change the fluid? Every 2k miles?

My tranny lasted 130,000km, till i towed a horse float with it (yeah, pretty dumb!) I got it fixed, but it died soon after, i gave up and bought a manual!
