Listen to your "papa". Roached is righ Stick that $850 under your mattress (or in someother form of obscenely low interest bearing savings...rates suck right now) and wait until you can afford a performance upgrade that will be far superior. I mean you did say one big one. You can do all these little ones for that money and not get the same increase in power. I have all but made up my mind that I am putting a ZE in my Turd but you have to figure out what you want. Its pretty obvious what everyone else in here wants though..."More Power Augh Augh Augh"

You guys got it all wrong. Nitrous! Buy a Zex wet kit, zex plugs, and a walbro 255. You can get 75 extra hp in no time. Only thing is, stock clutch wont last too long. As soon as it goes, maybe 4-5 months, replace it with an aftermarket one.

Uh, huh. You're a woman, aren't you? Only women can't make up thier minds like this.
The reason I suggested those mods was because the intake and exhaust have appreciable affects on performance,
No, they don't. Anybody who has bought intake and/or exhaust/headers for any K engines have gotten nowhere near what all these companies claim in their fabricated dyno plots. You're talking a few HP max each mod. What's the point? You can get a KLZE for $800 if you really look, and defintely a KFZE and ECU for $800 if there's a place locally that sells Jap specs so no shipping. That's an extra 38 crank HP minimum if you only get the KFZE, when you'd be lucky to get 8 HP on a K8 by adding over $1000 of intake/exhaust crap. Then, consider that alot of the intake/exhaust mods create HP at the sacrifice of torque, and it's starts looking even dumber than it did in the first place.

and dont forget that you can get a KL-DE for 300-400 if you look and you get the extra torque that only 2.5L can give

...anyway, back to reality guys! He's got $800.00 and he wants to spent it now. Not drop a couple grand on a new engine.

I suggest that you get...
- spark plugs & wires (Not that cheap ****..)
- PRM Pro Kit Intake (http://www.corksport.com/store/index.php3?cat=237741)
- CORK SPORT Front Strut Tower Bar (http://www.corksport.com/store/index.php3?cat=237747). This will improve your handling and steering response.
- Fuel Filter
- and get your entire fuel system cleaned out at your local mechanic.

Hopes this helps bud...

Nooo don't waste 800 on intake/wires/exhaust crap. If your current wires are doing ok, leave them. Performance wise, buy nitrous! Intake, exhaust, strut bar, and any other little mod will not make you happy, trust me. I've been there. I wasn't happy until I put my klze in. After that, I just had to go nitrous. If you plan on buying just intake, exhaust, header, crap like that, save it and buy rims. The performance gains will be so small you will regret wasting your money.

Yup, an I/H/E setup on a K8 isn't going to net you jack.

The K8 is a peice of crap platform to start with, and really isn't worth modifying. Unless you NAWWZ it until it explodes. (i recommend this ;) ).

After exploding your K8, buy a KLZE or KLDE. After that motor is in, upgrade the intake and if you want the exhaust.

I ran stock exhaust & intake on my KLZE last summer....then I installed a civic Si intake for 30 bux, noticed improved response & awesome sound. Just last week I installed my headers, full 2.5" exhaust w/freeflow cat & titanium muffler and HOLY ****, the car pulls like a mofo now.....well worth the money (about 650 for full exhaust, muffler, cat, resonator & headers).

If you do it right, you can "naaaaawzzzz" your k8 without it exploding. Colder plugs, higher flow fuel pump, and a wet kit nitrous kit is all you need.

IMHO big brakes seem kinda like overkill if Angelus isn't planning to swap in a bigger powerplant to produce enough juice that would actually require... big brakes. ;)

Big brakes are a waste without big balls.

i bet he'll eventually will swap engine turbo or whatever, stock is boring. even in my stock k8 o was going ~130 and i needed to brake fast and my brakes didnt wanna work as good as id want them to, so even my stock k8 would benefit with better brake system esp at high speeds
