can some help me

Post by colis »

hi guys i just need help as you can see i got a 1.6 engine , and my car is not faster , i want an engine like to next picture, i`m looking for a 1.8 4cyl . i have some questions , i found like 5 1.8 engines (mazda mx-3, all automatics) in a junk yard , my question is if the tranny of my car fits in the engine (1.8 ) , or what i will need ? any help please . a guy told me Just get an engine from a Protege LX and get the tranny with ,, is all i need ? , Or cop a BPT, they're pretty cool . from what car is that engine BPT ?

WOW first i need to complement you on how clean your engine bay is. its real clean.

as i beleve you can use your tranny, from what i understand all the F series trannys will fit.
if your just looking for a little bit more power without spending money i would just get the N/A 1.8, but if your looking for a drastic increse of power go for the BPT. and as i under stand the SOHC wiring harnes is the same or comapable with the BPT ECU. so it makes this swap alot easer than if you had a DOHC.
and you can find some helpful swap info in the engine swap section on the main home page

I would really suggest using the search function on this one too.

Swap wise a protege lx (91-94?) is what ya would be after for budget minded stuff. This has been discussed a ton so a search or two should yeild a lot
