4-cyl to V6??

Hey,
I was wondering if any of you out there have ever done a 4-cyl to V6 conversion. I was thinking of doing this (in my spare time). I was also wondering if somebody out there has ever tried to convert it to rear wheel drive, or am I talking crazy ****?

I recently had a slow end collision with a lifted 2004 ford F-350 and I have to take the engine out. I figured I would toss the Idea around, and see who has experience in this area.
