Alternator Problem

Post by Mja2327 »

I have went through about 5 belts on my 94'Mazda MX3...
It will do fine when I put a new one on...
Within days or weeks, it beings to screech and squeak really bad, until it snaps and comes off...
and it usually starts it when im first turning on my car, or if I have sat at a red light, it starts up again, until I give it alot of gas, get into maybe second gear...let off the gas and then back on - that is when it will stop...
Do I need a new alternator? pulleys? belts?
and how much...
Thanks
~Mike :)
Why did I smoke 2 01' Honda Civics at a stoplight w/ my stock 96' MX3? Cause the drivers were too busy rev'in up their engines to hear their $hitty mufflers!

I had the same problem when I put my new H/O alternator on... its in the shop getting a new belt right now. I figure if it snaps again, I can blame the shop until they fix it
