Seat belts will not move
My seat belts are not moving when I open my door they are stuck about three quarters the way back and when I open my door I can hear a clicking right behind my head im assuming thats the motor is the motor blown or is it off the track or something else amy help would be much appricated
Re: Seat belts will not move
Sorry I can't help you but, the automatic seat belts are horrible and have a history of problems. If you can go to the wreckers and get the manual ones you'll be much better off. Good luck.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Re: Seat belts will not move
I can move them with my hands and I can hear the motor trying to move them I just dont know were to start I gotta get this thing inspected before the end of the week so unless theres a junkyard close to me with an mx3 I cant get manual ones unless u can use them off other mazdas?
Re: Seat belts will not move
both sides or just the one? something with the motor and the cabling isn't working right. some really really fat guy once sat in my mx-3 and the belt didn't make it over him. Something snapped and it does exactly what you say it does. The whole assembly had to be replaced.
I have a good working drivers side one if you're needing a drivers side replacement.

Re: Seat belts will not move
Its both sides however the cable on the driver side is hanging out of the track now this is my 4th gs and ive never had any problems with the seat belts and now im reading about how many people have had these problems and the recall for it but like I said I dont have time to week for recall parts to come in as I have till friday to get it inspected but from the sounds of it theres really no other choice as there is no other fix for it

Re: Seat belts will not move
Does anyone know if the manual belts from another mazda do work? my car failed inspection for them not moving he said if they stayed locked in the back he would pass it however you can move them up and down the track by hand.

Re: Seat belts will not move
he also said its a cable problem when you move them to the back the cable pops right out of the track about a foot of it
Re: Seat belts will not move
I don't know of any other manual belts other than the mx-3 that will fit.
But the cable and motor assembly is one unit. The whole unit will need to be replaced.
